WEST FIFE LADIES BOWLING ASSOCIATION
CONSTITUTION
- The section shall be entitled the “West Fife Ladies Bowling Association”.
- The objectives of the section shall be to promote and develop ladies bowls amongst the Bowling clubs affiliated to West Fife Ladies Bowling Association according to the Laws of the Game as defined by the International Bowling Board.
- The section shall consist of all Bowling Clubs within West Fife.
- An Annual General Meeting shall be held on the third Thursday in February. Ten days notice of such meeting shall be given and 15 members shall be a quorum.
- At any General Meeting of the section each club shall be entitled to have two representatives, whose names and club shall be written on a card, to be supplied by the Secretary of the section and completed on entry to the meeting. No representative shall act for more than one club.
- Any club may send a requisition to the Secretary to call a Special General Meeting of the section. Such requisition shall state the nature of the business to be brought forward and upon its receipt, the Secretary shall lay the same before the members of Committee, who shall if they deem the matter of sufficient importance instruct the Secretary to call a special General Meeting. The notice of the meeting shall state the business for which it has been called and no other business shall be transacted at such special Meeting.
- At each third Annual General Meeting the section shall elect a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and 4 member of Committee. Members of Committee must be members of affiliated clubs.
- All members of Committee shall commence their terms of office on election at the Annual General Meeting. Any or all of them may be re-elected at each third Annual General Meeting.
- Each club through its Secretary shall be entitled to nominate a representative for Committee.
- If more candidates are entered than the number of places on Committee a vote shall be cast at the Annual General Meeting to determine the successful candidate.
- In the event of death or resignation of any member of the Committee during the term of office, the Committee shall have the power to make interim appointments.
- The Chairperson shall have a deliberative and, in cases of equality, a casting vote at all meetings of the section.
- The Committee of the section shall meet no later than six weeks after the Annual General Meeting and at periodic intervals during the term of office as business dictates.
- The Committee of the section shall have powers to make rules regarding competitions and judicator on disputes.
- All funds gathered for entering and organising competitions and all donations shall be lodged in a bank account under the name of the section and any withdrawals made by 2 out of 3 official signatures.
- No alteration to the Constitution of the section shall be made except at the Annual General Meeting. Notices of motion for any alteration must be sent to the Secretary of the section to reach no later than December 31st. The notice of motion should be set out in the agenda for the Annual General Meeting.

BYE LAWS
A Walker Memorial Trophy (League)
- Individual triples, players of whom must come from the same club. Each club can enter a maximum of four triples – where possible teams from the same club will be entered into different sections.
- No player can alternate between teams. First team played for is the team you commit to for the rest of the season.
- Each game will consist of 15 ends with two trial ends if necessary. Each player will play three bowls. Three players must play at all times.
- Two points will be awarded to the winning triple with one point being awarded for a draw.
- Dress for all games will be grey/black/navy/coloured bowling trousers or bowling shorts with white/club tops. All players must wear flat soled bowling shoes.
- All section games are due to commence at 6.30pm with 30 minutes being allowed for a late start.
- In the event of postponed games due to green conditions or unforeseen circumstances, the game is to be played by the end of the section games. Should it be the last match of the section the game must be played by the following Monday. If no agreement can be reached between the clubs, the Committee will decide when the game will be played.
- Results should be sent via text (07764-857810) or email (westfifebowling@aol.com) by midday on the Thursday following the league game. You can also go onto the front page of the web site (www.westfifebowling@org.uk) and send a message that way. Results will be updated on the West Fife Bowls website within 48 hrs.
- Scorecards must be signed and held by each club until the end of the season, in case of any queries. Full names must be written on the scorecards.
- Any queries or disputes should be emailed to the Ladies secretary (details below).
- After all section games have been completed the winning club in each section shall be the one with the most points.
- If points are tied, then the winner shall be the club with the better shots difference.
- If there is still a tie, then the winner shall be the club with the best record of games between the clubs – firstly number of points then shot difference.
- If there remains a tie, the club with the most shots (for) from all their league games will be section winners
12. Quarter finals and Semi-finals will be played on a neutral green on a date set by the Committee.
13. The final will be played on a date set by the Committee.

J Mitchell Trophy (County Singles) & A Bernard Memorial Trophy (County Pairs)
1. Singles 21 shots. Pairs 17 ends.
2. Dress for all games will be grey/black/navy/coloured bowling trousers or bowling shorts with white/club tops. All players must wear flat soled bowling shoes.
3. Games are due to commence at 6.30pm with 30 minutes being allowed for a late start.
4. If a tie has to be re-arranged this should be by mutual agreement & played prior to next round on the nominated green. The ladies secretary should be notified of the change of date. If no agreement can be reached between the clubs the Committee will decide when the game will be played.
5. Results - a photo of the scorecard should be sent via text or email to the ladies secretary immediately after the game, but no later than 24hrs after the game. Scorecards must be signed and full names recorded.
6. Substitution - as per Bowls Scotland rules. Semi-final and final will be classed as Stage 2 (rule 5.9).

S Brown Memorial Trophy (U25 County Singles)
1. A one day play down at a date set by the Committee shall take place to decide the two finalists.
2. The final will be played as a full game - winner being first to score 21 shots.
3. Players shall be eligible to participate in this and other County competitions. Should dual qualification happen the committee will decide on the date for the final.
4. All players must be under 25 years of age on the 1st April.
5. Each club may enter an unrestricted number of players.
6. Dress for all games will be grey/black/navy/coloured bowling trousers or bowling shorts with white/club tops. All players must wear flat soled bowling shoes.

Top 5
- Each team will consist of one pair and one triple from the same club. If clubs have less than 5 ladies playing competitive bowls (if ladies are playing internal club competitions they are deemed competitive bowlers) then two clubs may combine to enter a team.
- Pairs play 17 ends and Triples play 15 ends - two trial ends if mutually agreed.
- The game will be played on a neutral green.
- Two points will be awarded for a win and one point awarded for a draw (applies to both pairs & triples – with a maximum of 4 points available). If points are equal the result will revert to shots. If shots are equal, both the pairs and the triples will play an extra end to decide the winner. Extra ends will continue until a winner is reached.
- Dress for all games will be grey/black/navy/coloured bowling trousers or bowling shorts with white/club tops. All players must wear flat soled bowling shoes.
- All section games are due to commence at 6.30pm with 30 minutes being allowed for a late start.
- The final will be hosted by the previous years winner and will start at 6pm.
- In the event of postponed games due to green conditions, the clubs will need to rearrange for the game to be played before the next round. If no agreement can be reached between the clubs, the Committee will decide when the game will be played.
- Results should be sent via text or email to the Ladies Secretary immediately after the game, but no later than 24 hrs after the game.
- Scorecards must be signed and held by each club until the end of the competition, in case of any queries.
- Any queries or disputes should be emailed to the Ladies Secretary.
- The final will be played on a date / time set by the Committe

Sports Council
- Competition will consist of three events. Ladies Champion of Champions, Mixed Fours and Junior Pairs.
- No Player will play in more than one discipline in the Sports Council Competition. Any duplication will result in disqualification.
- Ladies Champion of Champion - Player must be the current champion of the club they are representing.
- Mixed Fours - players must be 2 men and 2 ladies.
- Junior Pairs - players must be under 18 years of age on the 1st April to participate.
- Singles is first to 21 shots, Mixed Fours is 17 ends and Junior Pairs is 14 ends
- Substitutions - no substitutions permitted in Champion of Champions. Junior Pairs and Mixed Fours as per Bowls Scotland rules. Semi Final and Final will be classed as Stage 2 (rule 5.9).
